Practice Meditation Groups

'Breath is the bridge which connects life to consciousness, which unites your body to your thoughts'. ~ Thich Nhat Hanh

Just simply taking a few minutes each day to focus on each moment as it arises, calm down and come back to the breath, can make a huge difference to our daily lives

I have an ongoing interest in Buddhism and Mindfulness meditation practice which helps me in my own life. I am interested in the many different ways we meditate and pray, and the mental tools which we find useful to help us in our daily lives.

If you want to learn more formally, I can point you in the direction of various Buddhist Centres or other organisations.

In Brighton we are lucky enough to have drop in meditation sessions at the Brighton Buddhist Centre

There is also the ‘Centre for Mindfulness Based Education’ in New Road, Brighton where I have attended some excellent courses.

Meditation sessions with me are an hour long, focussing largely on practices and ideas put forward by Jon Kabat Zinn.  Through meditation and visualisation, I like to look at ways to develop awareness of each moment, each breath, each thought ….No previous experience necessary, relaxed, exploratory and informal.

People are welcome to bring along a favourite short visualisation, or a piece of poetry or prose to share with the group as part of the session.

“do not pursue the past. do not lose yourself in the future. looking deeply at life as it is, in the very here and now, the practitioner dwells in stability and freedom.”…. The Buddha.
